Lucy Elizabeth Jefferson was the youngest daughter of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. She was born on May 8, 1782 at Monticello, the Jefferson family estate in Virginia. Lucy was the sixth of seven children born to Thomas Jefferson and his wife Martha Jefferson, and was named after her deceased mother.
Unfortunately, Lucy Jefferson's life was tragically short. She died at the young age of one on October 13, 1784, due to an illness. Her death was a devastating loss for the Jefferson family, who deeply mourned her passing.
Despite her short life, Lucy Elizabeth Jefferson is remembered as a beloved member of the Jefferson family, and her memory lives on in the historical record of the Jefferson family history.
